I am in the process of adding to this library, so this is very much a work in progress.
My vision for creating this range of courses is to provide an evergreen resource
that supports personal, professional and staff development.
They can be used in a variety of ways, for the individual, for groups i.e. staff events. Each course has been developed with reflective tasks and questions and will include extensive handouts linked to the content, including copies of the presentations.

It is important to me that I provide a blended learning approach including live introductions and reflective sessions enabling me to host conversations with Delegates to provide a more interactive experience including discussion and the opportunity to ask questions.

Observations, Asessment and Planning Series
Are you feeling bogged down by paperwork?
Are you confused by so much conflicting advice around what it means to do an observation, an assessment or planning?
If so, then you are not alone as there are a bewildering number of examples available across the internet.
As an antidote to this confusion, I have put together these three bite-sizzed webinars.
These short sessions are based on my ‘out of the box’ way of looking at things through the ‘what, why and how lenses’. Using the Statutory Framework (2024) as the reference point, I give you a taster of how to take an look at each topic so that you can see things more objectively and accurately.
These short sessions can be bought individually, but I would recommend buying the set as they all work together to help you to work in a more proactive and child – centred way. (See 'bundles' below)
Observations – I recommend that you view this one, first as developmentally informed observations are the basis of all the work you do with the children. Think of the words ‘look, listen and notice’ as active – ‘looking, listening, noticing’.
Assessment – We are actually assessing every minute that the children are with us, but it would be impossible to record all of what we see and how we responded to it. Significant moments will stand out though, but it does not mean that everything has to be recorded somehow though. It’s not about what a child cannot do, notice what they can do – they will surprise you.
Planning – Does your planning actually reflect the children you work with? Or is it commercially produced? Your observations and assessments must have some bearing on planning in order to make it relevant to the children. Your observations and assessments must thread through your plans as much as possible.

Transitions
I originally hosted these sessions as part of my 'Dr Sue's Surgery' - live and interactive webinars.
These short sessions cover how to support children as they move from up in the education sector
from Early Years to Reception and then Reception to Year One.
They are partcularly useful at the present as we head towards the end of the 2024-2025 academic year.
I make links to the EYFS Statutory Framework and covers specific questions, built into the presentation, that were submitted by participants in advance of the original live sessions.
Transitions in the Early Years – looking at how young children cope emotionally and physically with transitions into Reception, the importance of the Key Person approach and how this role support the child and family. ’.
Transitions into Year One – looking at how to support children as they move from Reception to Year 1 – preparing them for the change, helping them to understand what to expect both emotionally and physically.
